Robbie leads the Barbie cast as the titular Mattel doll alongside Gosling as her handsome male counterpart, Ken. The film has also assembled a massive ensemble cast full of recognizable stars, including Superstore's America Ferrera, Shang-Chi's Simu Liu, SNL's Kate McKinnon, X-Men's Alexandra Shipp, Sex Education's Emma Mackey, One Night in Miami's Kingsley Ben-Adir, Insecure's Issa Rae, and Will Ferrell as the CEO of a toy company. The Barbie movie began filming earlier this year at Warner Bros. Studios in England before moving across the pond to various parts of Los Angeles. Since then, an array of set photos have surfaced online and gone viral in recent weeks.

Based on Barbie and Ken's bright Neon outfits and rollerblades, it appears this video was taken along Venice Beach where production has been taking place for the past few weeks. Another recent set video captured here revealed the first sound of Robbie's Barbie voice as she shouts "Ready for fun?" which is as bubbly and boisterous as one would expect it to be. Now, this set video is the first time fans are hearing Gosling's voice as Ken, albeit a high-pitched shriek rather than dialogue, it does give the Oscar nominee the chance to showcase his vocal range and react to conflict in way that totally befits his character.
With virtually no plot details or other information about the film available, the exact context of this scene is unclear. With Academy Award-nominated filmmakers like Gerwig and Baumbach at the helm who have primarily worked on smaller, arthouse films, audiences should expect nothing less than a highly substantive take on the iconic fashion doll, such as exploring the type of mistreatment a real-life Barbie might face while in public.
