Batman Fist-Fighting Tigers in New Comic is An Instant Meme

[Collection]

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Batman: Killing Time #4

In the latest issue of DC's Batman: Killing Time, the Dark Knight's new battle with a group of tigers is an instant meme. Taking place early in the Caped Crusader's career, Batman is facing one of the first times his villains decided to work together to pull off a major heist. During the Dark Knight's pursuit, a distraction left behind by Selina Kyle's Catwoman creates one of the most hilarious brawls the Batman has ever had.

In previous issues of Batman: Killing Time from Tom King and David Marquez, Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman, and Killer Croc all worked together to steal from none other than Bruce Wayne. Taking a valuable object known as the Eye of God, the potentially powerful item was given to Bruce on the last day of his training with Ra's al Ghul. However, inevitable betrayals have led to Catwoman being alone and on the run with the Eye. Wanting to protect Selina just as much as he wants to recover the artifact, Batman's been trying to track her down (before someone else does).

Now, the new Batman: Killing Time #4 sees the Dark Knight dealing with all the tigers Selina released from a big cat sanctuary before Catwoman left with Batman's artifact. As a result, Batman has no choice but to fight around 30 tigers with his bare hands. While the action sequence could have just been depicted as a solely intense moment with Batman using all of his skills to survive, it's also an incredibly hilarious encounter where Bruce argues with Alfred over comms, promising not to permanently harm the tigers as he attempts to resecure them all without being mauled.

Not only is the Caped Crusader's matter-of-fact demeanor super funny while fist-fighting the big jungle cats, but Batman's growing exasperation with Alfred Pennyworth's pestering is comedy gold. Their interaction shows that Bruce and Alfred are still working out the kinks in their new dynamic. Clearly, Alfred is still new in his role as Batman's man in the chair, just as Bruce is still new as Gotham's protector.

At any rate, Batman taking on tigers is a battle for the ages. In the midst of such an epic series that explores this previously unseen era in the Batman mythos, it's a truly hilarious and meme-worthy moment that simultaneously showcases just how capable the Dark Knight is as a fighter in the DC Universe. Batman: Killing Time #4 is on sale now.
