Elden Ring Mod Changes Phantom Colors For Fashionable Fighting

[Collection]

A new Elden Ring mod gives players many more options when it comes to their color appearance as a phantom in the Lands Between thanks to a new customizable item. FromSoftware's massively popular open-world title has only been on the market since the end of February, but it has already cultivated a substantial amount of mods including a recent Elden Ring survival mod that takes into account hunger, thirst, and disease.

It hasn't taken long for Elden Ring's modding community to adjust or change the game. Within a few days of release, modders were already launching content to alter FromSoftware's newest title. These early fan-made contributions added relatively simple elements and mechanics to Elden Ring such as a pause button or a photo mode. Since then, there have been a number of more complex mods that, in some cases, add exterior elements from other intellectual properties like Thomas the Tank Engine or Star Wars. Others have tried to make the journey across the Lands Between more immersive and simultaneously not so lonely, as seen with the popular Elden Ring Seamless Co-Op mod.

Modder Dweet recently added a new Elden Ring project onto Nexus Mods that they encourage using with Seamless Co-Op. The mod is called "Cosmetic Phantom Colors - Aspects" and it allows players 23 total color customizations for their phantom forms, including a host of primary colors to really stand out in the Lands Between. These changes are entirely cosmetic and can be achieved by crafting the appropriate newly added items, Aspects, that will then appear for use at the bottom of the consumable tab with the other multiplayer items.

Not only are there a variety of new phantom colors brought to Elden Ring thanks to this mod, but players can now even look like certain bosses with unique designs such as Elden Ring's Godfrey's Golden Shade or Loretta's Carian Manor form. There are even a few shades that harken back to certain phantom looks from the Dark Souls series as well as a secret option the modder did not disclose. The mod can be downloaded now via the Nexus Mods link above.

While it is amusing to see a variety of mods that make Elden Ring borderline unrecognizable with some bizarre inclusions, it is also nice to see mods that make comparatively simple adjustments allowing for broader creative expression. Just by including these cosmetic options, players can now further diversify their character looks which will, in turn, enhance the overall roleplaying experience. Perhaps this can be a stepping stone for future Elden Ring mods to enhance or even change altogether the cosmetic customization tool included in the vanilla game.
