New Rob Zombie’s Munsters Images Show Herman, Lily & Grandpa In Detail

[Collection]

In the wake of last week's teaser trailer, Rob Zombie shares new images from his The Munsters movie providing detailed looks at Herman, Lily, and Grandpa. The musician-turned-filmmaker fought for twenty years to a make a movie based on the short-lived 1960s sitcom, though the project was first reported to be in development in March 2021. Throughout pre-production, Zombie posted continuous updates on social media documenting construction of the set in Hungary, particularly the exact replica of the Munster family home on 1313 Mockingbird Lane.

Soon after construction was finished, Zombie unveiled the first members of the cast in October 2021, and production kicked off the following month. Jeff Daniel Phillips leads The Munsters movie as Herman alongside Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa. Additional cast members include Richard Brake, Sylvester McCoy, Jorge Garcia, Catherine Schell, and Cassandra Peterson. Plot details for The Munsters movie are still under wraps, though the original sitcom centered on the titular family of benign monsters at home as they struggled to adapt to life in an archetypal American suburb.

Now, Zombie is once again taking to Instagram to share some photos from the set of The Munsters movie. These new looks at Herman, Lily, and Grandpa come a week after the release of The Munsters trailer which showcased the first full look at the trio in black-and-white before shifting to living color. Now that the trailer has revealed the film will be partially in color, expect many of the photos that Zombie shares from the set to also be in color to get audiences accustomed to the updated aesthetic. The Munsters movie shouldn't be in production for too much longer though, as it is going on six months of filming.

With production of The Munsters movie nearing a close, this could be one of the last looks Zombie shares from the set. If everything remains on schedule for the last leg of the shoot, the movie could be ready to be released later this year, with rumors indicating it will premiere exclusively on Peacock. With a release date still yet to be announced, fans can revisit the original sitcom streaming on Peacock to prepare for Zombie's updated twist on the gothic family.
