The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip stars Vicki Gunvalson and Dorinda Medley have been arguing for months, and with their feud heating up by the day, here's an explanation of how Vicki and Dorinda have gone from co-stars to enemies. Vicki and Dorinda are Real Housewives legends in their own right, with Vicki's 13 years on The Real Housewives of Orange County earning her the nickname "The OG of the OC." Dorinda, on the other hand, starred in The Real Housewives of New York City from seasons 7 through 12.
Nicknamed the "Ex-Wives Club," RHUGT season 2 will feature eight former Real Housewives stars who double as divorcees. Besides Vicki and Dorinda, the Peacock series includes fellow RHONY alum Jill Zarin, Taylor Armstrong and Brandi Glanville from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Phaedra Parks and Eva Marcille from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and Vicki's BFF and former RHOC co-star Tamra Judge.
While Real Housewives fans got their first taste of drama when a RHUGT season 2 clip of Brandi and Taylor arguing was released, Vicki and Dorinda's tense relationship has only continued to evolve after the cameras stopped rolling. It seems Brandi and Taylor won't be the only women feuding this season. With Vicki and Dorinda trading back-and-forth blows the closer it gets to the season's June 23 premiere, here's a look back at how their feud started.
Vicki and Dorinda's original argument occurred while filming RHUGT season 2 last fall over the COVID-19 vaccine. While Dorinda and Brandi advocated for taking the vaccine, Vicki reportedly remarked to the cast that anyone who received the vaccine would eventually die. Dorinda told Page Six in March that her fight with Vicki was simply "about science" and that "there was nothing emotional about it." Weeks before Dorinda was interviewed by Page Six, Vicki told the outlet that while she still believed that the COVID-19 vaccine was politicized, her stance had changed on the topic.
Things kicked off between Dorinda and Vicki again on June 8, after Vicki insulted Dorinda's Blue Stone Manor, the location of RHUGT season 2, during Bravo's Instagram Live. Vicki revealed that filming RHUGT only took a week but also said she doesn't plan on returning. "I do not want to go back to Blue Stone Manor. Love you Dorinda, but no. I would get bored out of my mind out there. There's nothing to do out there," Vicki admitted.
Dorinda became aware of Vicki's comments soon after the Instagram Live and didn't hold back her feelings on her podcast Make It Nice. After Dorinda was asked what she thought of Vicki's "b****** the other day" by a caller on June 10, Dorinda confirmed that while the house was built by Stanford White in 1902, "you can’t really have people that don’t have taste understand taste." Dorinda didn't just criticize Vicki's own home by calling it "pre-fabricated," but Vicki's past relationships with Brooks Ayers and Steve Lodge. "I don't date people that pretend to have cancer," Dorinda remarked of her co-star, adding, "I also don’t date men that then leave you for women that are half their age. You wanna get mean? I'll get mean."
Vicki, who has never been one to back down from a fight, responded to Dorinda's podcast in a June 12 Instagram comment captured by Allabouttrh. "[Dorinda's] the nasty one," Vicki fired back and justified her comment by saying, "I said her house is in the middle of nowhere (truth) and that it's old (truth). Defensive much?" Although Vicki has been accused of being difficult to film with, Vicki further claimed that it was Dorinda who was "horrible to most people who stayed there." Whether Vicki and Dorinda's feud is being ignited through social media or they are simply trying to influence who watches RHUGT season 2, these two Real Housewives queens won't be close friends anytime soon.
The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip premieres June 23 on Peacock.
