When to Watch A Christmas Story Christmas
HBO Max set the A Christmas Story Christmas release date at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT on Thursday, November 17. Clay Kaytis (The Christmas Chronicles) directed A Christmas Story Christmas from a screenplay by Nick Schenk. The story takes place 30 years after the events of the original movie and will see actor Peter Billingsley returning as Ralphie. Julie Hagerty (Airplane!, Just Friends) joins Billingsley as Ralphie’s mother, a character previously portrayed by Oscar nominee Melinda Dillon in the 1983 film. The cast also features Erinn Hayes, Scott Schwartz, R. D. Robb, and Zack Ward.
“The sequel follows an adult Ralphie in the 1970s, who returns to the house on Cleveland Street to deliver his kids a magical Christmas like the one he had growing up,” reads the synopsis. “With the same attention to real-life tone of the first, Ralphie reconnects with childhood friends, reconciles the passing of his Old Man, and sows the seeds for the origins of the beloved holiday classic.”
