Nintendo Switch Online Gets Trio of Games Previously Exclusive to Japan

Nintendo Switch Online Japan Games

Nintendo has revealed four games being added to the Nintendo Switch Online library today — three of which were exclusive to Japan until now.

While Quest for Camelot got a release in the west on Game Boy Color, the remaining three games — Kirby’s Star Stacker, Downtown Nekketsu March: Super-Awesome Field Day!, and Joy Mech Fight — are playable in Europe and the Americas for the first time today on their respective platforms.

All four Nintendo Switch Online games are available now

Kirby’s Star Stacker was added to the Super NES library today, September 6. The game was originally released on the Game Boy worldwide, but then received a SNES remake that was exclusive to Japan. As such, this version of the falling block puzzle game is only available to play in Japanese.

Both Downtown Nekketsu March: Super-Awesome Field Day! and Joy Mech Fight have been added to the Nintendo Entertainment System library today. Downtown Nekketsu March was released as part of Kunio-kun: The World Classics Collection on Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, although it has never been available separately in the west before today. The game pits up to four players against each other to win the most points in a sports tournament where violence is a perfectly valid tactic.

Meanwhile, Joy Mech Fight makes its western debut today. The game features two scientists who build a collection of military robots before one scientist attempts to use them to take over the world. The second scientist has to battle the robots in this fighting game so he can save the world.

Finally, Quest for Camelot has been added to the Game Boy library. The movie tie-in third-person action RPG is the only one of the four games to feature an English translation due to its previous availability in the Americas and Europe.
