Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming spy thriller Argylle has earned a PG-13 rating.
Per ComicBook.com, Argylle, which releases in theaters in February 2024, has been rated PG-13 for “strong violence and action and some strong language.”
Vaughn hasn’t directed a PG-13-rated movie since 2011’s X-Men: First Class, as 2014’s Kingsman: The Secret Service, 2017’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and 2021’s The King’s Man were all rated R. Prior to X-Men: First Class, Vaugh made 2007’s Stardust, which was rated PG-13, along with 2010’s Kick-Ass and 2004’s Layer Cake, both of which were rated R.
What is Argylle about?
“Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World franchise) is Elly Conway, the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie,” the official synopsis reads. “But when the plots of Elly’s fictional books—which center on secret agent Argylle and his mission to unravel a global spy syndicate—begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet evenings at home become a thing of the past. Accompanied by Aiden (Oscar winner Sam Rockwell), a cat-allergic spy, Elly (carrying Alfie in her backpack) races across the world to stay one step ahead of the killers as the line between Elly’s fictional world and her real one begins to blur.”
Written by Jason Fuchs, Argylle also stars Henry Cavill, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Due Lipa, Ariana DeBose, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, Sofia Boutella, and Rob Delaney. Vaughn produced the movie with Fuchs, David Reid, and Adam Bowling.
Argylle releases in United States theaters on February 2, 2024, from Universal Pictures and Apple Original Films. It is expected to premiere on Apple TV+ at a later date.
