Days of Our Lives star Eric Martsolf has opened up about what’s really going on between his character, Brady Black, and Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey). Following Sarah and Xander Cook’s breakup, fans speculate that Brady will try to reconnect with someone who understands what he’s been through.
So, here’s everything Martsolf shared about the recent developments on DOOL and what they mean for Brady and Sarah.
Eric Martsolf says it is ‘difficult not to root for’ Brady and Sarah in Days of Our Lives
The 54-year-old actor, who’s been playing Brady on Days of Our Lives since 2008, says his character’s intentions towards Sarah are genuine. Thus, fans might find it hard not to root for him as the story unfolds.
According to Eric Martsolf, Xander (Paul Telfer) and Sarah were together for quite a while, but did a pretty good job of tearing down the trust and stability in their relationship. He said that now there are some cracks in the foundation, and on soap operas, those cracks only get bigger. This leaves room for someone new, like Brady, to step right in.
“Xander and Sarah have been an item for quite a long time,” Martsolf told Soaps.com. “But they’ve also done a darn good job at destroying trust and foundation and all kinds of things. So, there are definitely some holes that have opened up, and what we do on soaps is we take holes and we make them bigger — it allows for fish to swim right in.”
Looking back at Brady’s love life, especially his relationship with Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk), Martsolf further admitted that she’ll always be one of Brady’s greatest loves, but also one of his toughest. He said that Kristen’s recent decision to “sacrifice herself for their daughter” is making Brady see her in a whole new light.
Eric Martsolf continued that, even with everything happening between Brady and Sarah, something is holding them together. They’re both parents doing their best to protect their daughters. “She has Victoria, Brady has Rachel, and there’s a lot of common ground for them,” he stated.
Moreover, Martsolf mentioned that Sarah still has a strong bond with Brady’s daughter, Rachel, since she helped raise her during her first year. And while Sarah isn’t Rachel’s mother, he noted she naturally fills that space. This makes her presence in Brady’s world feel even more meaningful.
Martsolf concluded, “Xander is off frolicking around, so Sarah and Brady are actually creating something quite interesting and substantial based on their common ground and their friendship.”
Going by Eric Martsolf’s words, fans will get to see many twists and turns in Brady and Sarah’s relationship on the upcoming episodes of Days of Our Lives.
