The next movie made by the Daniels, the directing duo best known for helming Everything Everywhere All at Once, has been given a new release date.
Following the release of the Oscar-winning 2022 film, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert were originally supposed to have a new movie come out on June 12, 2026. In February 2025, however, the film was quietly removed from Universal Pictures’ calendar. No new release date was given at the time.
When is the release date for the Everything Everywhere All at Once directors’ next movie?
Per Deadline, it has now been announced that the Daniels’ next film will arrive on November 19, 2027, which is the Friday before Thanksgiving.
No other movies have November 19, 2027, release dates at this time. Warner Bros. Pictures’ Margie Claus, a Christmas comedy film starring Melissa McCarthy, is scheduled to arrive on November 5, while Walt Disney Pictures and Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen III comes one week after the Daniels’ movie on November 24.
Plot details for the Daniels’ new movie remain heavily under wraps at this time. No casting has yet been announced.
Before making Everything Everywhere All at Once, the Daniels made a handful of short films before they wrote and 2016’s Swiss Army Man, which stars Paul Dano, Daniel Radcliffe, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Scheinert wrote, directed, and produced A24’s The Death of Dick Long, which was released in 2019, by himself, while both he and Kwan have worked on a handful of different television shows.
Everything Everywhere All at Once, however, is the film that really put the Daniels on the map, as that film won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh), Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis), Best Original Screenplay, and Best Editing at the Academy Awards, while it was also nominated for Best Original Score, Best Original Song, Best Costume Design, and another Best Supporting Actress entry for Stephanie Hsu.
