HBO is currently in early talks with an acclaimed Harry Potter alum to play one of the leading roles in The White Lotus Season 4. Production is expected to begin this coming spring in France.
Who is joining The White Lotus Season 4 cast?
According to Deadline, Academy Award nominee Helena Bonham Carter (The King’s Speech) is reportedly in “exclusive conversations” with HBO for a starring role in The White Lotus Season 4. Should the deal push through, Bonham Carter would be the first cast member for the new season of the acclaimed comedy series. Before the HBO show, she will first star in Netflix’s Agatha Christie series Seven Dials with Martin Freeman, which will debut on January 15.
Further details about its plot are still under wraps. In a previous interview, HBO executive Casey Bloys confirmed that creator Mike White first pitched his idea for Season 4 while they were filming Season 3 in Thailand. According to a previous report, the new installment is expected to shoot in five-star hotels located in Paris and the French Riviera. This is different from the first three seasons, which were all filmed at a Four Seasons hotel.
The award-winning series is created, written, and directed by Mike White (Enlightened), who is also serving as an executive producer alongside David Bernard, Mark Kamine, and Nick Hall. Since its debut in 2021, the show has maintained its Certified Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, its latest season has now become the show’s lowest-rated installment, with a Tomatometer rating of 86%, based on 190 reviews. Season 3 was able to score one Emmy Award out of 23 nominations for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music. It is currently nominated for six major Golden Globe awards, including Best Television Series – Drama, Best Supporting Actor for Walton Goggins and Jason Isaacs, and Best Supporting Actress for Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, and Aimee Lou Wood.
