Leonardo DiCaprio‘s recently released One Battle After Another is getting a special version on HBO Max, continuing a positive trend for the streamer.
What support is One Battle After Another getting on HBO Max?
As part of the many options to watch the movie, Warner Bros. announced that One Battle After Another will receive special American Sign Language (ASL) support exclusively on HBO Max. The movie will feature ASL interpreted by Deaf ASL Interpreter Otis Jones, and will be directed by Giovanni Maucere.
The ASL inclusion for One Battle After Another follows in the footsteps of several other projects that HBO Max has given the support option to. Previous movies that have received ASL support include Sinners, A Minecraft Movie, Superman, Barbie, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and It: Welcome to Derry.

One Battle After Another’s cast includes DiCaprio as Bob Ferguson, Sean Penn as Colonel Steven J. Lockjaw, Benicio del Toro as Sergio St. Carlos, Regina Hall as Deandra, Teyana Taylor as Perfidia Beverly Hills, and Chase Infiniti as Willa Ferguson.
“Washed-up revolutionary Bob exists in a state of stoned paranoia, surviving off-grid with his spirited, self-reliant daughter, Willa,” the official logline reads. “When his evil nemesis (Penn) resurfaces after 16 years and she goes missing, the former radical scrambles to find her, father and daughter both battling the consequences of his past.”
Paul Thomas Anderson writes and directs One Battle After Another. Anderson produces alongside Adam Somner and Sara Murphy. Released in September, One Battle After Another has garnered significant praise, with ComingSoon’s Jonathan Sim calling it one of Anderson’s most “urgent movies” and one that “feels particularly timely in today’s political climate.”
One Battle After Another earned nine Golden Globe nominations, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Director, and acting nods for DiCaprio, Infiniti, del Toro, Penn, and Taylor. The film is also expected to be a heavy favorite to earn several Oscar nominations.
