A controversial HBO TV show has been renewed for two more seasons.
Real Time, or Real Time with Bill Maher, is a political talk show created, written, and produced by Maher. The show originally premiered on HBO in 2003, while the latest season — Season 24 — is scheduled to premiere later this month.

As announced by HBO in a press release, Real Time with Bill Maher has been renewed for two more seasons. This means that it will get a Season 25 and Season 26, extending the show through 2028.
A description of the show, per Variety, reads, “Airing on Friday nights, Real Time is a topical and often unfiltered series that brings together figures in politics, tech, media, and entertainment in lively and sometimes tense panel discussions. Each episode also features a monologue from Maher, a one-on-one interview, and the signature editorial segment ‘New Rules.’ The show’s ‘Overtime’ segment has become a draw on YouTube.”
The show has had numerous guests over the years, some of whom have been controversial for one reason or another, including Elon Musk, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Charlie Sheen, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Nancy Pelosi, Ben Shapiro, and more.
Maher serves as an executive producer on Real Time alongside Sheila Griffiths, Dean Johnsen, Billy Martin, and Marc Gurvitz. Chris Kelly serves as co-executive producer, while Matt Wood is the producer and Paul Casey is the director.
Real Time has been nominated for the Outstanding Variety Series Primetime Emmy Award every year from 2005 through 2014. It was also nominated for the Outstanding Variety Talk Series Primetime Emmy Award in 2016 and 2017.
Real Time with Bill Maher Season 24 premieres on HBO and HBO Max on Friday, January 23, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
