Disney+‘s most popular television show is getting a surprise new special this week, which will undoubtedly make families everywhere happy.
What Disney+ TV show is getting a new special later this month?
Bluey, the hit animated children’s series, is getting brand new content on the streaming platform. On March 16, 2026, Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show will premiere on Disney+, bringing a special televised version of the popular touring theatrical production to the platform. The Bluey stage show features live performances of fan-favorite characters brought to life by puppeteers, and features an original story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, with music specially composed by Joff Bush.
That’s not all though, as Disney also announced that a previously released collection of 10 Bluey “minisodes” will be made available for the first time on Disney+ on May 20, 2026. These minisodes come in bite-sized form, and are a collection of one- to three-minute minisodes produced by Ludo Studio. The collection includes:
- Humpty Dumpty
- Green Bottles
- Flying Saucer
- Tea Party
- Pea Pod Sausages
- Old Macdonald
- Honk
- Lollipop Song
- Cinderella
- Make Mum Laugh
For the second year in a row, and perhaps unsurprisingly, the children’s series Bluey is the most-streamed TV show of 2025. According to a new report from Variety, per Nielsen numbers, Bluey has been watched for a staggering 45 billion minutes in 2025. That number is even more shocking considering the fact that episodes of the show are only about 10 minutes long.
Bluey began airing in 2018 on ABC Kids, and is now one of the biggest children’s shows ever. The series follows the adventures of Bluey, a six-year-old Blue Heeler puppy, and her family. The series has a wide-ranging development of merchandise, a stage show, and a film in development for 2027. The series is streaming in its entirety on Disney+.
