Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are teaming up for a Disney+ docuseries. Jackman was asked about the project in a recent interview, and he shared some thoughts about getting to work with Reynolds again after Deadpool & Wolverine.
What did Hugh Jackman say about his new Disney+ TV show with Ryan Reynolds?
The upcoming docuseries about Australian SailGP was announced by Disney+ earlier this year. It will be produced by Reynolds’ Maximum Effort and Eureka Productions. The show will follow SailGP’s BONDS Flying Roos from Australia, co-owned by both actors, and will include behind-the-scenes footage. The duo was announced as the team’s co-owners earlier this year.
Speaking with Collider, Jackman said, “With Ryan, it’s always a blast. I just never laugh so hard than when I’m with Ryan. But it was his idea, and as you know, Ryan’s got a gazillion ideas, and they’re all brilliant. So, I’m along for the ride, and I love it. I love Tom Slingsby. That whole team, we’re just having a blast. It’s been really surprising and fantastic.”

Identical 50-foot catamarans race along close-to-shore courses in SailGP, reaching speeds of up to 100 km/h. The Rolex SailGP Championship brings together top athletes vying for a $12.8 million prize pool. Jackman’s comments point to yet another hilarious collaboration with Reynolds.
Jackman and Reynolds last shared the screen in Deadpool & Wolverine, which grossed $1.3 billion at the box office. Fans are expecting the duo to reprise their superhero roles in either of the upcoming Avengers movies. Jackman will be next seen in The Death of Robin Hood, followed by a Treasure Island adaptation directed by Ridley Scott.
Rob Mac will serve as executive producer on the series. Brent Hodge is serving as director and showrunner. The SailGP docuseries will debut on Disney+ at an unknown date.
