One of the most overlooked sci-fi thrillers of 2026 has landed on Hulu today. Despite a limited theatrical release earlier this year, it has earned rave reviews from critics.
What underrated sci-fi movie is now on Hulu?
Redux Redux is available on Hulu from today, July 10, 2026. Directed by Kevin and Matthew McManus, the movie initially screened at the South by Southwest Film & TV Festival on March 8, 2025. It later received a U.S. theatrical release from Saban Films on February 20, 2026. The Michaela McManus-led film also received a digital release in the United Kingdom and Ireland through Blue Finch Film Releasing on February 23, 2026.
Since the film received only a limited theatrical release, its box office performance was modest. However, in the premium video-on-demand market, the film turned out to be a hidden gem and attracted a wider audience. Currently, the sci-fi thriller holds an impressive 97% Tomatometer and 62% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Redux Redux features an inventive take on parallel universes while emphasizing emotional depth. Speaking in an interview with ComingSoon Senior Editor Brandon Schreur, the writers and directors Kevin and Matthew McManus talked about the film’s early development.
Kevin said, “It all kind of started about ten years ago when we started kind of wanting to play around with the idea of telling a multiverse story. Where it was really born from was this idea of, can we tell a multiverse story that feels a little more personal and a little more intimate? Time travel movies are sort of a close relative of the multiverse movie, right?”
Apart from Michaela McManus as Irene Kelly, Redux Redux also stars Stella Marcus, Jeremy Holm, Jim Cummings, Grace Van Dien, Taylor Misiak, Dendrie Taylor, and Michael Manuel.
The film’s description reads, “In an attempt to avenge her daughter’s death, Irene Kelly (McManus) travels through parallel universes, killing her daughter’s murderer over and over again. With each kill, she grows addicted to the revenge streak, putting her own humanity in jeopardy.”
Kevin and Matthew McManus produced the film alongside Michael J. McGarry, Nate Cormier, and PJ McCabe.
