Marvel‘s Ghost Rider and Storm have a new casting update ahead of Avengers: Doomsday. In an interview, the President and Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Studios responded to a casting rumor about two stars associated with the characters with a vague answer.
What did Kevin Feige say about Ghost Rider and Storm’s MCU casting?
Josh Horowitz recently interviewed Kevin Feige on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. During the interview, the host told him that Ryan Gosling wants to play Ghost Rider, and Cynthia Erivo wishes to play Storm.
Horowitz followed these statements with the question, “Why is Ryan Gosling not Ghost Rider and why is Cynthia Erivo not Storm?” In response, Feige replied, “You never know what the future may bring. Both very good actors, and great characters.”
This vague response has left many fans wondering if the two will take on the respective roles in the coming movies. Both Ghost Rider and Storm are rumored to be a part of the upcoming movie Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars. This is because both movies will see the collision of multiple universes.
While most of the Doomsday cast is already confirmed, there is no confirmation about the two characters. However, some fans online are expecting Gosling-led Ghost Rider to appear in the upcoming movie.
Apart from this, while several X-Men actors and actresses from the previous movies will reprise their roles, Halle Berry won’t be playing Storm in Doomsday. This leaves room for Erivo to take on the character in the upcoming movies. However, in a previous interview, Berry stated that she would like to reprise her role in other Marvel movies.
Avengers: Doomsday will be followed by Secret Wars, which will feature the same battle against a multiuniversal threat: Doctor Doom. The cast of the two confirmed movies includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, Chris Hemsworth, Ian McKellen, and Patrick Stewart. While Gosling and Erivo may take on the roles they want, Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed them.
Doomsday will be released in theaters on December 18, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars follows on December 17, 2027.
