Mia Goth stars in a chilling psychological horror, one of the standout Hulu releases this week.
Coming to the platform on August 3, Pearl (2022) takes place in 1918 rural Texas amid World War I and the Spanish flu. The film centers on a young woman, portrayed by Mia Goth, trapped on a family farm whose longing to be a movie star pushes her down a dark path of obsession and violence.
In addition, MaXXXine, another Mia Goth-led movie, arrives on the same date. Set in 1985 Los Angeles, it follows adult film star Maxine Minx as she lands a big-break audition for a mainstream horror movie. But as she chases fame, she’s being tailed by a private investigator and targeted by a mysterious killer stalking Hollywood, forcing her to face the dark parts of her past.
Coming next on August 4 is Betrayal: Dirty Secrets: Season 4 Premiere, a Hulu Original. It is hosted by Andrea Gunning.
Another exciting Hulu release this week is The Shards. Created by Ryan Murphy and Bret Easton Ellis, The Shards premieres with its first two episodes on August 5, 2026, on FX and Hulu. The tense thriller unfolds in 1981 LA, tracking privileged school seniors as they’re stalked by a serial killer known as The Trawler.
Meanwhile, August 6 brings a full WWE marathon featuring WWE’s Greatest Moments: Complete Season 1 alongside WWE Rivals: Complete Seasons 1, 2 and 5.
