RuPaul's Drag Race: 10 Best Acting Maxi Challenges | Screen Rant

Season 7 of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars is being hailed as the best of the show, as fans love seeing former winners compete again and get a shot at the title "Queen of All Queens." To prove to RuPaul that they're worthy of being crowned again, contestants must showcase their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent in a variety of challenges. This includes the acting challenge, where the queens must memorize their lines, act from the heart, and make RuPaul laugh.

The acting challenge has been a Drag Race staple since its second season. From the fart-joke-filled Daytona Wind to the medical-themed Gay's Anatomy, the best acting challenges have allowed the queens to prove that they're well-rounded entertainers.

The acting challenge in season 12 was a parody of the long-running medical TV show, Grey's Anatomy. In the challenge, Jan, Jackie Cox, Brita Filter, and Gigi Goode, spoofed the doctors from the ABC drama show.

While they didn't win the challenge, Widow Von'Du was praised by the judges for adding some hilarious improv to her act. Nicky Doll, who gave a rib-tickling portrayal of an overgrown, French-speaking baby, was criticized by the judges and eliminated during the episode.

During the third episode of Drag Race season 6, the queens had to star in '60s and '80s-inspired horror movies for the maxi challenge. Team Milk, which had queens like Darienne Lake, Bianca Del Rio, Courtney Act, Joslyn Fox, and Trinity K. Bonet, did well as they acted the campy lines with conviction and heart.

On the other hand, Team Adore, with Vivacious, Laganja Estranja, April Carrión, BenDeLaCreme, and Gia Gunn, had difficulty as they forgot their lines, missed their cues, and failed to follow directions properly. Overall, the challenge was thoroughly entertaining, but it was Team Milk that nailed the campy-horror vibe that the judges wanted to see.

Drag Race season 9's acting challenge is directly inspired by the hit TV show, Beverly Hills, 90210. In fact, 90210 legends Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling acted as the queens' acting coaches and directors.

Shea Couleé and Valentina received positive feedback for their performances in the acting challenge. However, it was Trinity Taylor's performance as an overzealous and insecure mother that the judges liked the most.

The acting challenge in season 3 was an interstellar saga that's inspired by science fiction media such as the film Barbarella and the Star Trek series. The queens had to group themselves into two in order to shoot a trailer for the fictional film From Earth to Uranus and its sequel, Return to Uranus.

Manila Luzon's performance as an unintelligible alien monkey was incredibly hilarious. However, it was Shangela and Alexis Mateo who really shone during the hysterical acting challenge as they seamlessly pulled off the role of synchronized twin bots.

The final six of Drag Race season 5 were grouped into three and tasked to perform in the faux telenovelas Casa De Loca and Ella No Es Dama. In Casa De Loca, Alyssa Edwards and Jinkx Monsoon assumed the role of a mother-daughter duo who was cursed by their housekeeper, played by Coco Montrese.

In the murder-mystery telenovela Ella No Es Dama, Detox, Alaska Thunderf***, and Roxxxy Andrews play three women who are fighting over their dead lover. Despite being grouped with Alyssa and Coco, who are most known for having one of the biggest beefs on Drag Race, Jinkx Monsoon unleashed her theater roots and won the challenge.

Season 4 had some of the most dramatic moments in RuPaul's Drag Race, including the controversial disqualification of Willam Bell and some of the most unforgettable Untucked moments. The season has also spawned some of the most iconic lines in Drag Race herstory, courtesy of the acting challenge where queens played comedic roles in the mock prison show Hot in Tuckahoe.

The lines "But I am not into horticulture!" and "Get those nuts away from my face!" are forever ingrained into the minds of fans thanks to Jiggly Caliente's and Latrice Royale's excellent delivery.

The contestants of Drag Race season 14 aren't only Instagram-famous, but they're also a diverse set of queens who know how to do comedy. For the acting challenge She's a Super Tease, the queens had to write their script and star in teasers for a fictional season of Drag Race.

Willow Pill stood out in the challenge as she portrayed a confused contestant who thought she was going to be on the fake show The Bitchelor. But it was Angeria Paris VanMicheals who captivated the judges, due to her spot-on depiction of an agitated Drag Race contestant.

The best Hallmark Channel movies were the main inspiration for season 13's acting challenge. In the challenge, the queens were split into three groups. Denali's group with Elliott with 2 Ts, Kahmora Hall, and Olivia Lux didn't do well, and ultimately Kahmora and Denali faced off during the Lip Sync for Your Life.

However, Symone's character as a sassy flag-factory owner blew the judges away. Notable runner-ups in the challenge were Rosé and Kandy Muse who played a grandmother and grandaughter duo that ran a novelty shop.

In Drag Race season 8, the acting challenge was inspired by the drama television series Empire, which was a show that featured a dysfunctional family running a business empire in the music world. Playing a parody of the iconic matriarch Cookie Lyon, Bob the Drag Queen did exceptionally well in the challenge as she seamlessly improvised hilarious lines.

However, the supposed actor of the season, Robbie Turner, stumbled on her lines. She ultimately ended up on the chopping block, alongside Cynthia Lee Fontaine, who needed a lot of direction to complete her scene.

Season 14 of Drag Race had arguably the funniest acting challenge in Drag Race herstory. The queens had to act in an '80s-inspired sitcom called The Daytona Wind, which was obviously inspired by the iconic drama TV show Dynasty.

Little did the queens know that the script was full of fart jokes. While they were watching their final product on the main stage, the queens were taken aback as they heard fart sound effects throughout the presentation. While most of the queens did well during the challenge, it was Lady Camden who was deemed the challenge winner for her supreme acting chops.
