James Gunn has shared some new insights on Superman’s Mr. Handsome, who he says might be his favorite character in the whole DCU movie.
Superman is now playing in United States theaters. Written and directed by Gunn, the film stars David Corenswet as the titular superhero, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The movie also features a character named Mr. Handsome, a humanoid creature who shows up in the pocket universe created by Lex.

Gunn said on Threads about Mr. Handsome, “When people ask me my favorite character from Superman, it just might be Mr. Handsome. Lex created Mr. Handsome in a Petri dish when he was 12 – he was trying to make a human. He didn’t come out so well, but he just might be the only one in the world Lex has any true sentiment for, as evidenced by the photo on his desk. Our Mr. Handsome was portrayed by the wonderful [Trevor Newlin].”
