Aquaman star Jason Momoa has signed on for the leading role in Apple TV’s upcoming biker drama, titled Nomad, which hails from Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter. This marks Momoa’s latest project with the streamer, after starring in the sci-fi drama series See and in the recently released historical drama series Chief of War.
What do we know about Jason Momoa’s Nomad show?
“In the violent underworld of New Zealand’s outlaw bikers, a warrior torn between two lives, two callings, and two families must decide which path defines his true destiny,” reads the initial logline.
Nomad is co-created by Sutter and showrunner Chris Collins (The Wire), who are writing the pilot. Sutter is also set to serve as an executive producer through his SutterInk banner, along with Collins through Generator Entertainment. In addition to leading the cast, Momoa is also executive producing with Brian Mendoza for On the Roam.
Besides Chief of War, Momoa was also most recently seen in the blockbuster live-action movie A Minecraft Movie with Jack Black. Following its commercial success, a sequel is now in development and scheduled for a 2027 theatrical release. He also recently appeared in the star-studded drama In the Hand of Dante, which premiered at the 2025 Venice International Film Festival.
At the moment, Momoa is currently attached to star in several high-profile movies, including the road comedy Animal Friends with Ryan Reynolds; the DC Universe movie Supergirl, where he’ll play iconic anti-hero Lobo; Dune: Part Three, reprising his performance as Duncan Idaho from the first installment; and the live-action Street Fighter movie.
