Prime Video has released an official trailer for Carrie. The upcoming original series is based on Stephen King‘s iconic novel of the same name. The miniseries is directed by Mike Flanagan.
The series logline reads, “A Misfit high‑schooler Carrie White (Summer H. Howell) has spent her life hidden away inside the walls of her home with her fiercely protective mother, Margaret (Samantha Sloyan). After her father’s sudden, untimely death thrusts her into the unforgiving ecosystem of public high school, Carrie is forced to navigate a viral bullying scandal that tears through her community, the relentless pressure and casual cruelty of the social‑media age, and the awakening of mysterious telekinetic powers that rise alongside her adolescence.”

What do we see in the Carrie TV show trailer?
The trailer introduces a fresh take on Carrie White, a shy high school student whose life takes a turn when she’s forced back into public school following her father’s sudden demise. There, she faces relentless bullying from classmates, the pressure of social media, and an overprotective mother at home. Meanwhile, Carrie discovers mysterious telekinetic powers that grow stronger along with her adolescence.
The series stars Summer H. Howell as Carrie White, Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, and Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross. It also features Josie Totah, Arthur Conti, Thalia Dudek, Amber Midthunder, and Matthew Lillard.
Mike Flanagan, Elizabeth Padden, Justina Ireland, Dani Parker, Elan Gale, Alexandra Magistro, and Rebecca Leigh Klingel wrote the first six episodes. Flanagan will direct four of the season’s overall episodes. Flanagan is also the showrunner while executive producing the series with Trevor Macy and Stephen King.
Carrie premieres on Prime Video on October 7 and will include eight episodes in total. A preview at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival is also set for this September.
