Inde Navarrette recently shared comments that are likely to excite Marvel fans. After gaining attention for her role as Nikki Freeman in Curry Barker’s Obsession, she recently met Jake Schreier, who is set to direct Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men film.
The Obsession actor gave a direct answer about joining the Marvel universe
In a recent interview with Nylon, Navarrette admitted that she would love to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When the interviewer asked her if she would do a Marvel film, she replied, “I would.”
She also admitted that she recently met up with Jake Schreier, the director of Marvel’s Thunderbolts*. He is attached to direct Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men Reboot movie, which is currently slated for a 2028 release. Her direct response to doing a Marvel film has fueled speculation that Navarrette could join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, although nothing has been confirmed.
She also talked about her dream projects, which included an action movie like Atomic Blonde and a live-action adaptation of Rebecca Yarros’ Fourth Wing. Apart from Schreier, she would also like to work with Ryan Coogler, Greta Gerwig, and Michael Mann.
When asked about Obsession 2, she stated, “I think the beautiful thing about it is that there is no sequel. I think it’d be cool if Curry did the anthology series that he was talking about, where each is a different wish. Then I could watch and not get scared by myself.”
Barker’s indie horror film has become one of 2026’s biggest surprise box office successes. Made on a reported budget of $75 million, it has already grossed more than $400 million worldwide.
The film follows Bear (Michael Johnston), who breaks a “One Wish Willow” hoping to make his crush, Nikki, fall for him. However, Nikki’s obsession unleashes something dark and sinister. The supporting cast of the film includes Cooper Tomlinson, Megan Lawless, and Andy Richter.
