What do we know about Ben Stiller and Amy Schumer’s NSFW movie?
Bros was directed by Nicholas Stoller, who co-wrote the screenplay with Billy Eichner. The ensemble cast was led by Eichner and Luke Macfarlane as their characters slowly fall in love with each other despite being afraid of commitment. They were joined by Guy Branum, Miss Lawrence, Ts Madison, Dot-Marie Jones, Jim Rash, Eve Lindley, Monica Raymund, Guillermo Díaz, Jai Rodriguez, Amanda Bearse, Symone, and Bowen Yang. Besides Stiller and Schumer, Kenan Thompson, Debra Messing, Kristin Chenoweth, and Seth Meyers also had brief appearances in the film.
“The film follows two gay men, maybe, possibly, probably, stumbling towards love. Maybe. They’re both very busy. From the ferocious comic mind of Billy Eichner and the hitmaking brilliance of filmmakers Nicholas Stoller and Judd Apatow comes Bros, a smart, swoony, and heartfelt comedy about finding sex, love, and romance amidst the madness,” reads the official synopsis.
Following its world premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, the movie garnered positive reviews from critics and audiences. It currently has a Fresh score of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite this, the film wasn’t able to replicate its critical success in its box office performance. It only grossed over $14 million worldwide against a budget of around $22 million. The movie was produced by Judd Apatow, Josh Church, and Stoller, with Eichner and Karl Frankenfield serving as executive producers.
